Mounted Skills Workshops: Skills of the Hunt Sharpen your blades and steady your steeds!
Whether you are a seasoned cavalier or a rider just beginning your equestrian journey in the SCA, this event is designed to immerse you in the art of the medieval hunt.
Join us for a day of skill-building, camaraderie, and tradition.
What to Expect: This workshop focuses on the practical application of mounted weaponry and the essential skills required for a successful hunt.
Highlights include:
- Countryside Riding: Navigate varied terrain to build confidence and coordination with your mount.
- Targeting Drills: Practice with swords, arrows, javelins, and lances against both stationary and mobile "mock-game."
- Packing & Transport: Learn the logistics of the hunt with hands-on practice in packing mock-game for transport.
- Revelry & Community: Wind down after a day in the saddle with our traditional end-of-day celebration.
The Picnic Potluck: No hunt is complete without a feast! We will conclude the day with a potluck picnic. Please bring a dish to share as we gather to swap stories of the day's triumphs and celebrate our progress.
