Self Defense Class (ages 16-24) co-ed, billingual

Welcome to the Self Defense Class event happening at Mentis Wellness Campus, this event is offered as billingual! Join us on August 7, 2025 at 3:00 PM for an empowering session to learn essential self-defense techniques. The workshop will allow participants to learn techniques such as situational awareness, feeling confident when "out and about", and quick movements to disable vital parts of the body.

About Dr. Alejandro Guerrero

Dr. Alejandro Guerrero is a dedicated local educator and community leader with over 20 years of experience in higher education. He currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent and Vice President of Student Affairs at Napa Valley College. Prior to this role as an administrator, he contributed as an EOPS Counselor and Instructor at the same institution. As an equity-minded leader, Dr. Guerrero is deeply passionate about serving both students and the broader community.

Beyond his professional commitments, he is a husband and proud father of three wonderful children, as well as a devoted baseball and softball coach.

In addition, Dr. Guerrero has nearly two decades of experience in martial arts. He holds a 6th-degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate/Impact through Main Street Martial Arts in Napa and is a certified Jeet Kune Do instructor—Bruce Lee’s martial art. He is also trained in reality-based self-defense systems, particularly street combatives. Martial arts serve as a foundation for him to cultivate discipline, mental resilience, focus, concentration, self-control, and personal growth.

Dr. Guerrero looks forward to sharing these philosophies and insights with Mentis.
