Join our first Mt Kenya group climb of the festive season and conquer Lenana Summit (4985m) Africa’s second-highest peak. This 4-day Sirimon - Chogoria traverse delivers everything: crisp alpine air jaw-dropping scenery a lakeside camp under the stars and the unmatched satisfaction of a real summit challenge.

This route is perfect for both first-time climbers and seasoned trekkers looking for a scenic yet tough adventure. It’s not a walk in the park - it’s a climb that builds character memories and a new respect for the mountain.

🧭 Route

Sirimon up - Chogoria down

We ascend gradually through the highland forest and moorlands via Sirimon acclimatizing comfortably before summiting Lenana. The descent through Chogoria treats you to the best views Mt Kenya has to offer - Mintos tarn Lake Ellis and the famous Nithi waterfalls.

🕓 Itinerary

🗓️ Day 1 - Dec 3:

Depart Nairobi early (8:00 AM from CBD).

Drive to Sirimon Gate start the trek to Old Moses Camp (3300m).

Evening acclimatization and overnight at camp.

🗓️ Day 2 - Dec 4:

Trek across moorlands to Shipton’s Camp (4200m) below the majestic peaks.

Expect breathtaking views of the high alpine zone and early dinner for summit prep.

🗓️ Day 3 - Dec 5:

Summit Day! Pre-dawn start for Lenana Peak (4985m) - witness sunrise from the summit.

Descend via Mintos Tarn enjoy views of Gorges Valley and camp overnight at Lake Ellis.

🗓️ Day 4 - Dec 6:

Visit Nithi Waterfalls exit via Chogoria Gate and return to Nairobi.

Tired legs full hearts and bragging rights earned.
