Join us for the first play reading of our brand new 2026/27 season!

This version offers a focused and powerful take on the original story of 1984, placing particular emphasis on the relationship between Winston and Julia, and the gradual erosion of certainty, truth and independent thought. It’s a lean, thoughtful script that moves away from spectacle and instead explores the human experience at the centre of Orwell’s world.

• The play reading is a free-standing event and not part of the audition process

Director Jeremy Acklam will be in attendance to share his vision for the production, including ideas around projection and visual storytelling.
