Low libido, low energy, painful sex, recurrent urinary tract infections, and changes in sexual health are some of the most common — and least discussed — concerns women face in midlife. Despite growing evidence that testosterone and the genitourinary system are profoundly affected by hormonal changes, most Canadian women are told these concerns are simply part of aging. Dr. Elisabeth will explain what the current medical literature actually shows, why the entire genitourinary system — not just libido — deserves attention, why testosterone has been overlooked in women's care, and what options women have to regain or maintain their sexual health as they age.
