- **Event Description**: Raise and weave your voice in a community song circle / informal harmony workshop celebrating the new moon, and the regeneration of light and hope from darkness. Easy-to-learn, harmony-rich songs that lift the heart and soul, taught by call and response in the oral tradition, with songleader Sylvia Humble. April Laurie brings a splash of fun, accessible improvised circle singing, and groovy percussion accompaniment.  Move with the syncopated rhythms, and sink into the blissful sound.

All voices are welcome regardless of background - it’s about joy and connection, not perfection.

These are songs from the community singing movement:  from simple rounds, to songs with 3 or 4 harmony parts / layers,  to simple songs with opportunity for harmonies to arise organically.  There are no wrong notes and we embrace imperfection. 

Please bring a mug for ginger lemon tea (to reduce paper cups)

Admission is on a sliding scale to make it accessible: $20 - 30; please choose what feels both generous and affordable to you. If cost is a barrier please contact Sylvia.

About the facilitator:
Sylvia Humble is a community songleader devoted to reviving our tribal roots of singing together for joy, connection and healing. After leaving her government job to follow her calling, she founded Humble Harmony in 2021 — a welcoming, non-performing community group where she teaches uplifting songs and harmonies by ear in the oral tradition, weaving in creativity and movement. Sylvia also hosts community singing events and workshops, and has become known for her joyful and skilled leadership, creating warm, accessible spaces where people rediscover the magic of shared harmony. Sylvia is a graduate of Community Choir Leadership Training and a member of the Ubuntu Choirs Network which shares the belief that singing together is a universal human birthright and can change the world.
