Some of the best House and Techno you will ever hear. With decades of experience, Rennie Foster (of Vancouver) James Feud (Victoria) & AndFriends (Nanaimo) are ripping up the decks at LevelTwo Nightclub in Nanaimo August 29th. Come dance with us and celebrate the last days of summer vibes.  

Rennie Foster is a veteran Canadian DJ, producer, and visual artist with over 30 years in the global electronic music scene and known worldwide for his signature track "Devil's Water" among other underground hits. A pioneer of hip-hop and rave culture in Western Canada, he later became a key figure in Japan’s underground club circuit, earning top DJ rankings from LOUD Magazine. His music has been released on labels such as Jack White’s Third Man Records, Transmat, F-Communications, Rebirth, Subject Detroit and Synewave, with collaborations involving legends like Juan Atkins, James Zabiela, and Swayzak. Rennie has played across North America, Europe, and Asia, with appearances at festivals like Shambhala, BassCoast, Soundwave and Nagisa. He also runs his own label, RF, and continues to release cutting-edge house and techno records on international imprints like Skylax, Weapons of Desire, Acid Works and Soiree Records.

Andfriends has been broadcasting dance music — new, old, funky, fresh, stale, obscure, underrated, and underplayed — on CHLY 101.7 FM since 2018, digging deep into dance music's roots and obscure offshoots. He's just up there twisting buttons and pressing knobs, playing other people's music with love. Known for tasteful Deep Disco, Balearic gems, and Italo House selections, Andfriends avoids the obvious and leans into the outer edges of House. Expect anything from cosmic floaters and groove-laden chuggers to locked-in disco basslines, all woven together in a set that tells a story without taking itself too seriously.

Long before the radio show, Andfriends spent nearly a decade promoting dance music in Nanaimo. Inspired by countless nights on the dancefloor at Level 2 in its early years, he could usually be found travelling across Vancouver Island to support local events, meeting DJs, then bringing many of those artists back to Nanaimo for shows under the Andfriends Music Events banner. These days, as the Head Bureaucrat of the Rave Scout Framily Collective and one of the organizers behind Otherworld's Electric Circus Lounge and Velvet Lounge, event production has become just as much a part of the Andfriends project as DJing. Because good parties aren't built on DJs alone, they're built on good people, thoughtful spaces and the little details... like obsessing about ambient lighting.
