People of Ari presents an experimental sound evening where nature and technology intersect, set within a multi-purpose space surrounded by nature in the heart of Bangkok. Held in the reflective period between holidays and the new year, White Box Soundscape: Organic Signals is an experimental sound event that explores nature as signal, not as scenery, but as something encoded, transmitted, and embodied through sound (and the beings manipulating them).
The night features Liew Niyomkarn, whose work transforms acoustic string instruments into evolving harmonic systems, and Mirian Kolev, who blends environmental recordings, electronics, and live plants into reactive sound compositions. Together, they create immersive sound worlds where organic signals and machine processes co-exist. More additional experimental sound artists will be announced.
About Artist:
Liew Niyomkarn is a Thai sound artist and composer based in Brussels, working with acoustic string instruments such as zither and lyre. Her work explores natural resonance, custom tuning systems, and layered harmonics, often combined with field recordings that capture environmental sound and memory. Through live performance and installation, she creates evolving sound environments that reveal the physical and organic qualities of sound.
Mirian Kolev (Bulgaria) Mirian is an experimental musician and sound artist working across ambient, electroacoustic, and improvisational music. For this performance, he will present a live set using electronic devices, contact microphones, environmental recordings, and living plants fitted with sensors. The biological signals of the plants are translated into sound, creating a direct interaction between organic life and machine.
