- **Event Description**: The Toughest Single Day Traverse in the Aberdares
We wind up our adventures in the Aberdares this year with an epic three peak traverse in the Southern Part of the mountain. This extreme hike to starts at the Mutarakwa KFS Gate and takes up the high Mt. Kinangop at 3906m asl. After Mt. Kinangop we take on the short but tricky detour to the 12 apostles and push up to the Eye of the apostles. The 12 Apostles are simply a series of 12 sharp hillocks that one has to climb and descend to get to the Eye. The Eye is a hole that appears like a giant window overlooking the beauty of the mountain.
The journey continues further south to Elephant Hill Summit and takes the traditional Elephant Hill trail to the gate in Njabini.

NOTE: This is an extreme hike that demands excellent fitness and previous hiking experience to high altitude.
