- **Event Description**: Ketebul Music presents Shades of Benga Photo Exhibition, Music Concert & Book Activation. Hosted by Bric a Brac Antiques Gallery, the event will feature a one month long exhibition (starting 30th September to 28th October) of pictures extracted from the book, Shades of Benga - The Story of Popular Music in Kenya: 1946-2016.

The opening of the exhibition (30th Septenber) will feature music performances by Osumba Rateng' and Orchestra Masika Afrika.

Osumba Rateng’ is one of the pioneer River Road musicians that helped popularize the benga sound in the 1970s & 1980s. He is also best remembered for his song “Baba Otonglo.”

Orchestra Masika Afrika is a band on course to revive big-band rumba music in Kenya.

There will be food and drinks on sale at the venue. ADMISSION IS FREE!

Shades of Benga will be on sale at the event and all through the exhibition month for KES 5,000/=

This event is brought to you by Ketebul Music in conjunction with Bric a Brac and supported by Karen Gables, Orchestra Masika Afrika and the Alliance Française de Nairobi.
