🧭 Route
Sirimon up – Chogoria down
Smooth acclimatization through forest and moorlands on ascent then a dramatic descent past Mintos Tarn Lake Ellis and Nithi Waterfalls — the most scenic trail combination on Mt Kenya.
🕓 Itinerary
🗓️ Day 1 (Dec 17): Depart Nairobi 8:00 AM from City Hall Way–Taifa Road junction (opposite International House). Drive to Sirimon Gate and trek to Old Moses Camp (3300 m).
🗓️ Day 2 (Dec 18): Hike across moorlands to Shipton’s Camp (4200 m) beneath the main peaks.
🗓️ Day 3 (Dec 19): Pre-dawn summit attempt of Lenana (4985 m). Enjoy sunrise at the top descend via Mintos and camp by Lake Ellis.
🗓️ Day 4 (Dec 20): Visit Nithi Waterfalls exit Chogoria Gate and drive back to Nairobi.
