- **Event Description**: Join SFA Gardens for the April 9 Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series featuring Dr. Christine Coker, Louisiana's state vegetable specialist, extension agent in general horticulture for southeast Louisiana, and research coordinator at the Hammond Research Station. Established in 1922 as the Fruit and Truck Experiment Station, the facility traditionally served the strawberry and vegetable industries. Today, the research focus is landscape horticulture. Scientists evaluate more than 500 ornamental plants per year.
A plant raffle will follow the presentation. Parking is available at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet Street in Nacogdoches or next door at the Raguet Elementary School.
The Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series is held on the second Thursday of every month. Attendance is free, however donations to support the lecture series are gratefully accepted. For more information, email sfagardens@sfasu.edu or call 936-468-4129.
