Following the success of the first Homeschool Hop held this past fall, museums and cultural sites in Lufkin and Nacogdoches are once again partnering to welcome homeschool families for Homeschool Hop Days this March.
Homeschool Hops are designated days when participating museums and historic sites open their doors to homeschool families, with many locations offering hands-on crafts, activities, and educational experiences designed especially for children. The fall Homeschool Hop was a huge success, drawing families from across the region and highlighting the strength of shared educational resources in Deep East Texas.
Lufkin’s Homeschool Hop Day will take place on Tuesday, March 2, with Nacogdoches’ Homeschool Hop Day following on Thursday, March 5. Families are encouraged to visit multiple sites throughout the day to explore a wide range of learning opportunities.
Participating Nacogdoches sites include:
-Millard’s Crossing (discounted admission for homeschool hop)
-Durst-Taylor Historic House & Gardens *
-Zion Hill Baptist Church Historic Site *
