Over the years, POMAC has established itself as a platform where future policymakers, economists, and leaders turn ideas into impact. In the current global landscape of economic volatility, Bangladesh stands even more vulnerable as the buzzword "impending recession" is growing aloud from the corner.


Theme for POMAC 6.0:

"Fuel, Inflation, and Fiscal Strain: Managing Energy Price Shocks in Bangladesh"


Event Segment:

Policy Case Competition
(Total Number of Rounds: 3)


Round 1: 
Participants will be provided with a case scenario, which they must solve with fundamental reasoning and policy suggestions. Policy suggestions should provide economic justification with theory and empirical data. 

Case study solutions have to be submitted Online as a 'Policy Paper'. 

Round 2:
Twelve teams advancing to this round will participate in 'Poster Presentation,' followed by, a 'Policy Dialogue'.

In this round, advancing teams will be allocated different stakeholders in the policymaking process of Bangladesh, like the government, private sector, international organizations, NGOs or civil society. Teams will present their policy recommendations, sorted from the policy paper they submitted in the first round, in accordance with their designated allocation, and will engage in discussions afterwards on major economic policy issues, reflecting national perspectives mainly. The dialogue will focus on real-world challenges such as trade policy, foreign investment, taxation, employment, climate finance, and other contemporary economic concerns.

A workshop will be conducted before round 2. The tentative time and required materials will be mailed to the team leader's mail.

Round 3: Grand Finale
This round comprises 6 finalist teams. This round's case analysis will revolve around the main theme of POMAC 6.0 - "Fuel, Inflation, and Fiscal Strain: Managing Energy Price Shocks in Bangladesh." Teams will present policy solutions, through 'Slideshow Presentation,' highlighting their strengths based on the updated national & global context, budget and originality.

With the evaluation of expert judges, three of the most exceptional teams are expected to emerge as winners. The finalist teams will get mentorship opportunities before the final round to make sure they have the best pitch.

Who Can Participate?
• Undergraduate students from across the country;
• Cross-university teams are allowed;
• Each team is allowed to have 3-4 Members;
