The Wreck of the Muskegon
Presented by Pat Horn - Program Manager of the Muskegon Museum of History & Science / Lakeshore Museum Center
Around 4:00am on October 28, 1919, the worst maritime disaster to ever occur in Muskegon took place.
As the weather worsened, waves picked up the steamer Muskegon and dashed it onto the Muskegon pier repeatedly until the ship was broken into pieces.
In this presentation, we will look at the ship, the wreck, and what fallout occurred from the disaster.
