About Serita's Black Rose
Northern Express - Rick Coates September 24, 2012
‘BLEW ME AWAY’
“The first time I heard her sing she just blew me away. “I feel that Serita is one of these great singers that has fallen through the cracks, a musical oversight by the industry,” said Redding. “I think we are catching her as a rising star.”

Local singer Serita Crowley opened the show, accompanied by Jon Hayes on acoustic guitar. Crowley gave a soulful twist to Seals and Croft’s “Summer Breeze” and “You’re No Good,” a nod in tribute to Linda Ronstadt (who recently revealed she has Parkinson’s disease). On a couple of original numbers, she showcased her aptitude on the harmonica, and a strong sense of blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll.
