Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a 40-day season of reflection, repentance, and preparation for Easter. In the United Methodist tradition, the sign of ashes reminds us of our mortality and our deep need for God’s grace, calling us to humility, honesty, and renewal of heart.
