This hike may be under 3 km, but it delivers incredible panoramic views and a satisfying climb close to Townsville.

About the Hike

Located near Ross Dam on private property, Round Mountain offers a unique and scenic experience within close proximity to Townsville. Despite its short distance, this hike provides outstanding views across the region.

From the summit, enjoy sweeping vistas of Ross Dam, the Upper Ross, the Pinnacles Range, and the surrounding Townsville landscape - making it one of the most rewarding short hikes in the area.

When we've finished the hike, we'll find a nice, cool swimming hole in the nearby Round Mountain Creek to cool off, so don't forget a towel!

Please note: Access to this area is via private property, and appropriate permissions are required and arranged for this hike.
