JUNIOR ZOOKEEPERS SUMMER CAMP

Does your child have a passion for learning about reptiles? Then this is the camp for them! Two hour camp every Monday. Each camp has a different reptile theme. All camps involve some handling of the reptiles and a craft. Cost is $35 for the first camp and $25 for each additional camp.

6/3 – LEAPING LIZARDS – Come learn about the cute and cuddly lizards along with the bigger more advanced species.

6/10 – TURTLES & TORTOISES – What makes a turtle a turtle and a tortoise a tortoise? Can a tortoise come out of their shell? Find out the answer to these questions and more!

6/17 – BIG & DANGEROUS – Big and dangerous reptiles often get a bad wrap. Come learn more about these unique species and come away with a healthy respect for their part in the ecosystem.

6/24 – SNAKES COME IN ALL SIZES – Saying snake is like saying dog. You can find snakes as big around as your thumb here in Utah, and some as longer than a car in Asia. Come learn about a variety of snake species in this fun camp!

7/1 – PHYLOGENY DAY – What is Phylogeny? It’s the history of a species. Learn about the history of reptiles and how they got to be where they are today.

7/8 – CARE OF MYSTICAL CREATURES – Our specially trained wizards and witches will transport you to a mystical realm to learn more about the magical creatures found in the wizarding world.

7/15 – VENOM DAY – Spiders, scorpions, rattlesnakes and venomous lizards! Come learn about the importance of venom and how to distinguish it from poison.

7/22 – CROCODILIAN DAY – Find out how to tell the difference between alligators, crocodiles and caiman. See what amazing attributes they have to protect themselves and help them live really long lifespans.

7/29 – ANIMAL LOCOMOTION – Does it slither, sidewind, crawl or jump? Learn how various reptiles move!

8/5 – ANIMALS IN THE WILD – We will learn more about local reptile species, how they blend in with their surroundings and how we can safely find and identify them in the wild.
