“The Hands of Moses”

My love for hands began in childhood, perched on my grandfather’s knee. I was fascinated by his one large, worn, callused hand—etched with dirt and grooves, yet strong and tender. I’d trace every detail, rub the soft skin of his stump, and feel completely safe.

Isn’t that what we all long for? To be seen. Rooted. Loved. Safe.

My tiny fingers disappearing into his massive hand gave me quiet assurance—I was cared for.

This painting is a tribute to that feeling. To Moses—his weary hands after building the ark, his heavy heart as he watched destruction, and his unshakable faith in a future unseen.
