- **Event Description**: This is a guided Color Field Trip hosted by The Art Table. Join us Saturday, May 16th 🌿
We will be meeting at the Munster Ridge train station and taking the 10:45 AM train into Chicago, arriving at Millennium Station (Randolph). From there, we will walk to Millennium Park where the class will take place.
Please plan to arrive by 10:15 AM to allow time for parking and purchasing your ticket.
Once everyone is on the train, you will pick a color out of a hat. That color becomes your focus for the day.
This experience is designed to help you slow down, see differently, and shoot with intention.
The guided portion of the class will run from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. During that time, you will receive:
Light photography guidance and mentoring
Direction on composition and how to approach your subject
Simple editing guidance
You are welcome to photograph anything that fits your color — flowers, buildings, textures, artwork, or people. This is about training your eye and focusing on one visual element.
After 1:00 PM, you are free to stay, explore, and continue shooting at your own pace. You are also welcome to head out whenever you choose.
Please bring your own lunch and snacks, as we will be spending time in Millennium Park immediately after class. You are welcome to hang out with the group or hop back on the train and head home.
Return trains from Chicago are available throughout the afternoon, including:
1:10 PM (for those leaving right after class)
Around 3:30 PM (a more relaxed option)
Around 5:40 PM (for those staying longer)
Following the event, each participant will submit 5–10 images based on their color. These will be used to create a collaborative reel through The Art Table within a few days.
No experience is needed. All levels are welcome.
You are welcome to bring a DSLR camera if you have one, but it is not required. A charged phone is all you need.
This experience is for ages 18 and over.
Cost is $20 per person
Spots are limited and secured by payment.
Participants are responsible for:
Their own train ticket
Transportation to and from the station
Personal belongings
