Nachdem die instrumentale Surf Musik erstmals durch den Pulp Fiction Soundtrack auch in das Mainstream Bewusstsein katapultiert wurde, und einen Boom an Surf Bands auslöste, sieht es 25 Jahre danach leider wieder anders aus. Konzerte mit Surf Musik sind leider eine echte Seltenheit geworden.
Desto erstaunlicher ist es, das es dem Italiener Lorenzo Valdambrini gelungen ist die Surf Musik Szene wieder zu reaktivieren und in seiner Heimatstadt Livorno das derzeit weltweit größte Surf Musik Festival namens „Surfer Joe Summer Festival“ seit 2003 zu veranstalten. Zudem Tourt er mit seiner Band Surfer Joe pausenlos um die Welt um den faszinierenden reverb Sound zu verbreiten.
Zu erwarten sind mehrheitlich Eigenkompositionen seiner 4 Alben, aber sicher auch ein paar Cover Versionen seiner großen Helden, den legendären Astronauts.
