Bislang hat Fabiola Mendez vor allem das Publikum in ihrer Heimat Puerto Rico und in den USA verzaubert. Mit ihrer weichen, eindringlichen Stimme wie an der zehnsaitigen Cuatro, dem Nationalinstrument Puerto Ricos, dass sie als bisher einzige Absolventin des Berklee College 
of Music als Hauptinstrument spielte. Ihre Mission ist die Auseinandersetzung mit ihrer Kultur, ihrer Herkunft und ihrer Identität. 2022 drehte sie sogar den Dokumentarfilm «Negrura» zu Themen wie Colorismus und Diskriminierung. Auch auf der Bühne erzählt sie Geschichten, indem sie die Volksmusik ihrer Heimat mit allerlei Stilen vom Folk und Pop bis zum Jazz vermischt. Seit Mendez mit Bad Bunny zusammenarbeitete, ist der Hip-Hop-Star und aktuell erfolgreichste Pop-Künstler ein Freund und Förderer von ihr. Beim Jazz Sommer wagt die Preisträgerin des Quincy Jones Awards, Emmy-Nominee, „Latin Artist of the Year 2023“ und offizielle Botschafterin der „Puerto Rican Day Parade“ in New York City erstmals den Schritt nach Europa.
