About this Event

Do you want to find out how German you are?

Or learn how to fake it?

How to become a Double German?

In just over an hour of hilarious comedy, you will embark on a unique linguistic adventure (50% English and 50% German) that is as delightful as it is hilarious. They will give you a masterclass in how to impersonate a real German. And share a few dark German secrets along the way.

Set against the backdrop of Munich, How to Become a Double German is a laugh-out-loud comedy show about the misadventures of two unlikely friends: Mel, a quick-witted Irish expat with a penchant for sarcasm, and Pajo, a Croatian with unwavering determination and a slightly off-kilter grasp of the German language. Together they embark on a comic quest to assimilate into German culture, only to find themselves in a series of hilarious predicaments.

Mel's English charm and Pajo's unique take on German customs combine to create a comedy cocktail that's as refreshing as it is hysterical. From trying to master the unwritten rules of a German sauna to their startling encounters with the legendary German directness, their journey is a relentless quest to become "double Germans", with twice the cultural confusion and twice the laughs.

Each episode dives into a new cultural conundrum. Watch as Mel tries to navigate the complexities of German grammar, turning language lessons into linguistic limbo, while Pajo's attempts to introduce Balkan hospitality to their German neighbours result in a hilarious cultural mishmash. Their contrasting approaches to German life, from punctuality to party planning, create a comedy of errors that's as endearing as it is entertaining.

More than just a comedy show, How to Become a Double German is a heartwarming exploration of cultural diversity, friendship and the often humorous reality of adapting to a new country. With Mel's Irish wit and Pajo's Croatian zest, this show promises to keep audiences laughing as they navigate the rollercoaster ride of becoming part of German society.
