In "Starman" spielt Jeff Bridges einen extraterrestrischen Besucher, der leider keine schöne Begrüssung auf der Erde bekommt. Ein etwas ungewöhnlicher John Carpenter Film, aber wahrscheinlich auch einer, den noch nicht so viele von euch gesehen haben. 

Seit 1977 schwebt die Raumkapsel "Voyager 2" durchs Weltall. Ihre Mission: Lebewesen auf anderen Planeten von der Existenz der Erde zu berichten und sie zu uns einzuladen. Jetzt ist der ersten Gast da: Starman - der liebenswerteste Außerirdische seit Galaxis-Gnom E.T. Doch statt Pauken und Trompeten empfängt die Air Force ihn mit Bomben und Raketen. Der Starman muss im Norden der USA notlanden - mitten im Wohnzimmer der jungen, attraktiven Witwe Jenny Hayden (Karen Allen). Er nimmt die Gestalt ihres kürzlich verstorbenen Mannes (Jeff Bridges) an und zwingt Jenny, ihn nach Arizona zu bringen. Dort soll er in drei Tagen von seinen Artgenossen wieder abgeholt werden. Es beginnt eine gefährliche 3000-Meilen-Jagd quer durch die Vereinigten Staaten...


On June 20th, we kick off our "Summer of Carpenter." From then on, we’ll be presenting a selection from John Carpenter’s extensive filmography. Naturally, we can’t show you every single one of his movies, but our lineup includes Escape from New York, Christine, Prince of Darkness, Starman, Big Trouble in Little China, They Live, Village of the Damned, and Ghosts of Mars. So, we don’t want to hear any complaints.

In "Starman", Jeff Bridges plays an extraterrestrial visitor who unfortunately doesn't receive a warm welcome on Earth. It is a somewhat unusual John Carpenter film, but likely one that not many of you have seen yet.

The "Voyager 2" space capsule has been drifting through space since 1977. Its mission: to inform life forms on other planets of Earth's existence and invite them to visit us. Now, the first guest has arrived: Starman—the most lovable alien since that little guy from the galaxy, E.T. But instead of a fanfare, the Air Force greets him with bombs and missiles. Starman is forced to make an emergency landing in the northern US—right in the living room of young, attractive widow Jenny Hayden (Karen Allen). He assumes the form of her recently deceased husband (Jeff Bridges) and compels Jenny to drive him to Arizona. There, he is to be picked up by his own kind in three days' time. A perilous 3,000-mile chase across the United States ensues...
