Blending contemporary, historical, and fictional narratives, the works look at the many ways people create and sustain relationships; through biology, chosen family, friendship, community, and survival. A young man reflects on growing up with two mothers, a mother prepares to meet her daughter’s girlfriend over a home-cooked meal, and a trans initiation ritual reimagines motherhood through community and transformation. Other pieces revisit figures such as Dominic D’Souza, Firdaus Kanga, and Sultan ‘Bobby’ Padamsee through memory and storytelling, while themes of migration, illness, resilience, and social change run through the evening. Originally developed as part of the promenade shows, Postcards from Goa and Postcards from Colaba, these works are brought together here in a shared indoor theatrical experience.Written and directed by Vikram Phukan
