Forest Walk at Kanheri Upper Trail

The monsoon is here and so is the best possible time for trekking. The climate is turning more pleasurable by the passing days, forest streams are now gurgling with crystal clear water and the forest is buzzing with all kinds of life forms.
Happy days are here for trekking enthusiasts and SGNP welcomes you all for these specially designed long treks along with our expert naturalists.
The plan is clear, assemble in the morning and hit the forest trail as soon as possible. Spend a good, long part of the day in exploring the forest and soaking in the best of what the season has to offer. So pack in a spare set of clothes, a good energy-giving snack and yes, doesn’t forget your rainwear. Get ready for every Sunday, we are promising you a wild time right here in the city.
The peaceful forest trail at the base of the Kanheri hill and winds up along gently towards the Kanheri plateau. As you ascend, the forest does open up to numerous vistas showcasing the SGNP landscape and the city at the farther end. The trail climbs on to the Kanheri hill and one gets to view the magnificent caves as well. A fantastic forest trail made all the more enjoyable with our naturalists.

CHARGES: INR 700 per participant.
07.00 AM -- Report at SGNP main gate + Refreshments
07.30 AM -- Board SGNP bus to Kanheri Upper Trail
08.00 AM -- Walk Starts
11.00 AM – Board the bus back to the main gate
11.30 AM– Feedback & disperse.

1. Wear proper walking shoes. Sandals or slippers not advised.
2. Carry ample amount of water for yourself.
3. Carrying snacks won't be a bad idea (but don't litter in the forest).
4. Refrain carrying costly items (except cameras) and jewelry for the trail.
5. Wear full and camouflage clothes. Mosquitoes are a given, so carry insect repellent.
The trail will be led by our expert naturalists. They will share the information about the biodiversity of that region.
