Mumbai’s newest cultural headquarters The Quarter will launch with a special First Day First Show concert featuring two all-star ensembles at The Royal Opera House.

The Blues All Stars is a supergroup comprising veteran musicians and composers: drummer and The Quarter’s artistic director Ranjit Barot; pianist Loy Mendonsa, best known as one-third of Hindi film music director trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy; guitarist Mahesh Tinaikar of India’s longest-running alternative rock band Indus Creed, guitarist Dhruv Ghanekar, the frontman of acclaimed jazz-fusion project Dhruv Voyage and prodigious bassist Mohini Dey.
The Jazz All Stars, led Barot, will feature some of the finest jazz instrumentalists from around the globe – saxophonist Sean Freeman (of the British band Level 42) and trumpet player Tom Walsh from the UK; guitarist Marc Guillermont from France; and pianist Osam Ezzeldin from the US – as well as a few of India’s brightest music stars – bassist Mohini dey, percussionist Vibhas Titu Rahul, vocalist Vasundhara Vee and keyboardist Gulraj Singh.
The Quarter, the city’s newest cultural headquarters comprises four distinct venues situated at the iconic Royal Opera House. Live At The Quarter (a live music venue), Drink at The Quarter (a cocktail bar), Café at The Quarter (an all-day café) open October 26th, while Dine at The Quarter (an al-fresco restaurant) opens in the first week of November.
