This lively workshop combines classical Kathak movements with fun fitness activities to build coordination, strength, flexibility, balance, and rhythm — all while children enjoy the beauty of Indian classical dance.    Udaan-Kathak Fitness for Kids is a dynamic workshop that introduces children to fitness through the vibrant rhythms and graceful movements of Kathak.  Led by Gauri Sharma Tripathi, who is trained in Kathak under Padma Sharma and has choreographed and performed extensively in India and internationally and Tarini Tripathi, who is a 3rd generation Kathak dancer, trained by her grandmother, Guru Padma Sharma, and mother, Gauri Sharma Tripathi. Her lineage allows her to explore Kathak's diverse aspects while maintaining its formal vocabulary. Recently, she received the prestigious Nritya Nipun from the Nalanda Dance Research Centre and the Best Dancer Award at PECDA 2022. The session blends classical dance elements with engaging fitness exercises in a joyful and energetic environment.   Children will explore the joy of movement while developing coordination, strength, flexibility, balance, and a strong sense of rhythm. The workshop makes fitness creative and meaningful while fostering an appreciation for the rich tradition of Kathak.
