Tutor: Evey Weavy (Yvonne Hammond)
This will be held in Murchison or Inangahua - TBC.
Cost: $340 for a 2 day workshop (plus $10 materials change paid on commencement of workshop to tutor.)
Harakeke (NZ Flax) is the most enduring of all New Zealand native plants, a natural resource and easily accessible.
From plant to product, in this workshop you will learn the skills of weaving with Harakeke (NZ Flax).
Practice, Practice, Practice: an opportunity to build confidence and experience. Come with your own Flax and an idea of a project to complete. Evey will support you to further your Weaving practice; whether plaiting, handles, finishes or learning to weave your ara as at kete whakairo level (pathway of weaving).
As a group learning beside each other you will learn from each other also.
