Since being bit by the Euro (tight-line) nymphing bug in 2020, Vince has spent the past five years immersed in perfecting this method for Western Washington’s diverse rivers. Drawing from global tactics and countless hours on the water, he’ll show how subtle changes in setup and presentation can make all the difference when winter flows run cold and clear. He previously served as secretary, maintaining meeting records and the member database, and now helps guide programming by recruiting guest speakers and supporting new members. Raised fishing the small mountain streams of Appalachia, Vince learned the art of “blue-lining” early and still enjoys exploring off the beaten path. These days, he’s most at home working moving water—tight-lining for trout or swinging flies with two-handed rods for steelhead. When he’s not wading a river, you might spot him pedaling his Hobie Passport 12 kayak across local lakes, stripping streamers through the shallows. An advocate for healthy fisheries, Vince volunteers regularly for Cedar River cleanups and Coho fry relocation projects. His dream destinations include Belize, New Zealand, Pyramid Lake, Omak, and Italy’s Valsassina Valley—but his heart remains here in the Pacific Northwest, where he continues to refine his craft and share what he’s learned with fellow anglers.
