World Greek Language Day
UNESCO has officially proclaimed February 9 as World Greek Language Day, recognizing the Greek language’s immense contribution to world culture and civilization. Observed on the anniversary of the death of Greece’s national poet, Dionysios Solomos, this day highlights the Greek language’s unbroken 3,000-year history, its foundational role in Western thought, science, and literature, and its enduring influence on modern languages worldwide.
This special celebration brings together students, educators, and community members to honor and celebrate the richness and cultural legacy of the Greek language through music, rhythm, and poetry.
Featured Performance
Ellie Ganelin will perform live with her Kombos Collective, a group of superb musicians, offering an inspiring musical journey deeply rooted in Greek language and culture.
Student Participation
