? Our annual Deputy Allen Lipford Memorial Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show raises funds to provide scholarships to a deserving Johnson County High School student each year.

? This year's event will be held at Johnson County High School in conjunction with the Sunflower Festival. 

? Plaques will be awarded to the Top 25 vehicles in each category, as well as Best in Show awards for Cars, Trucks, and Motorcycles.

? Attendees can also enjoy a 50/50 cash drawing, door prizes, food, fun, and fellowship. 

? Commemorative shirts and hats will be available for purchase

End of Watch: December 11, 1991

? Deputy Sheriff Allen Lipford was tragically killed in the line of duty on December 11, 1991, after being shot by a felon attempting to escape from the county jail.

At approximately 3:15 a.m., the inmate overpowered a jail officer and fled the facility. As he attempted to escape, he encountered another deputy in the parking lot. During a struggle, the inmate was able to gain control of the deputy's service weapon.

Deputy Lipford was exiting his patrol vehicle to assist when the suspect opened fire, striking him in the head. Deputy Lipford succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The suspect then stole Deputy Lipford's patrol car and fled.

Deputy Lipford's courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Through this annual event and the scholarships it provides, his legacy continues to impact the lives of Johnson County students for generations to come.
