Mountain City, TN — The Johnson County Tourism Office, on behalf of the Johnson County Chamber of Commerce, is excited to announce a full day of holiday festivities for Christmas on Main, taking place Saturday, December 6, 2025. This beloved community tradition brings the sights, sounds, and spirit of Christmas to downtown Mountain City with food, shopping, entertainment, family activities, live performances, and Santa himself.

The celebration spans the entire day, offering something special for every age. Below is the official schedule for Christmas on Main 2025.

? FULL DAY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
VFW Breakfast Buffet
Begin your Christmas on Main morning with a warm, hometown meal at VFW Post 6908. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring sausage gravy & biscuits, scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, hashbrowns, and more.
Proceeds directly support Johnson County veterans, making it a meaningful way to start the celebration.

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Johnson County Farmer’s Holiday Market
After breakfast, visit the Johnson County Farmers Holiday Market on the lower level of the Johnson County Welcome Center. Shop local farm goods, baked treats, handmade gifts, seasonal produce, and artisan-made items perfect for holiday giving.

10:00 AM – Festival of the Trees Open House (Upstairs)
Head upstairs at 10:00 AM for the Festival of the Trees Open House, where more than 40 beautifully decorated Christmas trees and a special holiday train display await.

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Festival of Trees – Open House
The Festival of Trees officially opens for the holiday season. Guests can view and vote for their favorite trees daily through December 26 (or purchase 6 votes for $5).
Prizes: $100 • $75 • $50 • $25
Winners announced December 27.
All proceeds benefit the Johnson County Historical Society.

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Cookie Walk with Santa
Kids can whisper their Christmas wishes to Santa during the annual Cookie Walk! Enjoy cookies baked by the Johnson County Culinary Arts team and local volunteers.
Cost: $5 per cookie bag & beverage
Beverages include: hot chocolate, cider, wassail, Gnome Punch, or water.
Additional food available from Local’s Deli.
Each cookie bag holds about 6 cookies.
Includes Santa visits, a treasure chest, and fun temporary tattoos.
No admission charge to visit with Santa.
Proceeds benefit the Johnson County Historical Society.

Annual Christmas Parade – Downtown Mountain City
The beloved parade returns with the 2025 theme: “Light of the World!”
Floats, lights, music, and the arrival of Santa Claus himself will fill Main Street with Appalachian holiday charm.
After the parade, guests are invited to the Christmas Tree Lighting and live music at the Christmas Village.

6:45 PM – 8:00 PM
Annual Christmas Tree Lighting & Live Entertainment
Join the community at the Christmas Village for the official tree lighting, featuring live Christmas music by Randy Dandurand and special performances by the Stateline Stompers.
Guests are encouraged to continue enjoying the Christmas Village afterward—or take a short walk to Heritage Hall Theatre for an evening show.

Johnson County Community Theatre presents: “The Bishop’s Wife”
Heritage Hall Theatre
A nostalgic live radio-style Christmas performance filled with faith, love, and holiday wonder.
