Join professional naturalist and experienced birder Kate Brown for a relaxed Saturday morning bird walk at the Wiley Slough. We will chat about what to look and listen for while birding, discuss some of the common wetland species we are likely to spot and what makes them unique- then set out with our binoculars and scope to see what amazing birds we can spot! Bring your coffee, donuts, and any binoculars you might have (I own a few to share!) Species commonly sighted here include diver winter ducks, snowgeese, tundra swans, northern harriers and great blue herons.Accessibility Note: We will be meeting at the Wiley Slough in Skagit County, which is about a 40 minute drive from downtown Bellingham. The entirety of the trail is completely flat packed dirt/gravel, and there are bathroom facilities at the trailhead.
