Public NLS Permit Meeting.

The Kokosing Scenic River needs your voice. The Ohio EPA is currently deciding whether to allow a quarry to dump more sediment into the Kokosing Scenic River. It's time for the public to stand up for our beloved State Scenic River.

After conformation from the Ohio EPA, this meeting is now scheduled for March 4th, 2026

The last comprehensive biological survey of the Kokosing Scenic River was in 2007. How can the EPA protect what they haven't measured in nearly two decades? This river is the home to many protected muscles species who aid in the clarity and health of this beautiful State Scenic River. The hellbender who is endangered calls this River home.

What we are demanding:
✨ No Antidegradation - which will lower the quality of this outstanding State Water
✨A new independent muscle survey before any permit is even considered.
✨ Real-time monitoring of river flow and clarity.

Don't let the Kokosing Scenic River be buried in a blanket of limestone sludge. Join us as we speak against the approval of this permit.

Your support is greatly needed. Please share with your friends and family. This may very well be our last chance to protect the Kokosing Scenic River from becoming a dumping zone, damaging its valuable resources in the name of profit. There's a better way.
