Step into the story at Illuminight 2026, Mount Vernon’s twelfth annual Winter Walk and Festival of Light! Each glowing luminary tells its own tale of creativity, connection, and the beauty of our Skagit home. When you bring your light, your art, or simply your presence, you become part of a collective story that we write together through community, art, and the warmth we bring to even the coldest winter night.
Enjoy live performances from local youth musicians, dancers, and artists from 5:00–6:00 PM on the Riverwalk Stage, followed by the Luminary Procession at 6:00 PM, winding through downtown Mount Vernon and back to the Riverwalk for a magical close around 7:00 PM.
🌟 This Year’s Theme: “Step into the Story”
Experience the wonder as the Riverwalk glows with handcrafted luminaries of all kinds, from intricate globe sculptures created by professional artists to simple glowing bags decorated by families on the day of the event. Each one tells a story of imagination, belonging, and our shared connection to the Skagit ecosystem.

Before and after the Winter Walk, step even deeper into the story with White Branches, an enchanting local art venue just steps away from the Riverwalk.

Meet the talented luminary artists behind this year’s glowing creations. Enjoy a cozy and inspiring pre-event gathering filled with light, warmth, and creativity.
Free and open to the public, but advance registration is required (space is limited).

7:00 PM–late | White Branches
After the procession, escape the cold and continue the celebration in a whimsical, art-filled space. Warm up with music, mingling, and magical ambiance as you chat with artists and community members who make Illuminight shine.
