Thursday, December 4th 3:30–6:30 pm Mount Shasta Nature School Farm & Forest Learning Village A relaxing and regenerative afternoon for families, neighbors, changemakers, and all who feel called to imagine what a village-rooted learning community could look like in Mount Shasta. Together, we’ll walk the land, listen to its stories, share our hopes, and illuminate the path forward for our children and our community. Schedule of the Day 3:30–4:30 pm Wilderness Connection Activity Arrive, settle, and let the land welcome you. We will open with a simple, playful wilderness connection practice designed for all ages This is a chance for families and community members to feel the spaciousness, creativity, and connection that the nature school embodies. 4:30–5:30 pm Lantern Walk Land Tour A magical twilight walk as we explore the pathways, classrooms-in-nature, goat pasture, forest learning spaces, and the future home of our yurt classrooms. Each guest will bring) a small lantern or tealight in a mason jar or battery candles to illuminate the trail as we walk together. Along the way, we’ll pause for stories of the land, the school’s vision and seasonal learning pathways and dreams for regenerative gardens, forest classrooms, trails, and village gathering spaces, a shared moment of honoring the ancestors of the land and the new stewards rising. This is a beautiful time for children and adults alike, moving together as a village, guided by light, curiosity, and possibility. 5:30–6:30 pm Appetizer & Side-Dish Potluck We gather around warmth, nourishment, and conversation. Bring a small appetizer, snack, or side dish to share (finger-food style makes it easy!) We will share visions for the school, meet other local families and neighbors, explore how to participate, collaborate, or enroll. A closing circle will offer gratitude, blessings for the land, and next steps for building our village together. We come to celebrate the beginning of the Mount Shasta Nature School community!
