و مع خروج الدين من المعادلة الإجتماعيّة الغربية،ظهر مفهوم الزواج المدني الذي تصادم بقوة مع مفاهيم الزواج التقليدية ،ومع المؤسسات الدينية بشكل خاص،حيث حلت الدولة  و قوانينها ،مكان رجل الدين لمباركة هذا الزواج.

Les coutumes, les traditions sociales et la religion jouent un rôle majeur dans la définition des concepts du système familial en général, et du mariage en particulier, ainsi que dans la structuration de ce système.

C’est ce qui explique la grande différence entre le système familial dans nos pays orientaux et celui en Occident.

Avec la sortie de la religion de l’équation sociale occidentale, le concept de mariage civil est apparu, entrant en fort conflit avec les notions traditionnelles du mariage et, plus particulièrement, avec les institutions religieuses, puisque l’État et ses lois ont remplacé le prêtre pour bénir cette union.

La Société Gilgamesh a le plaisir de présenter une conférence intitulée :
Le mariage civil - Ses dimensions sociales, juridiques et culturelles

Cette conférence sera donnée par le juge Ismaïl Jarbou, né en Syrie, à Soueïda, en 1981. Diplômé de la Faculté de droit de l’Université de Damas en 2007. Il a exercé la magistrature pendant quatorze ans dans les domaines civil, pénal et religieux. Il est également actif dans de nombreuses organisations humanitaires, de développement et caritatives. Il réside au Canada depuis 2023.

Customs, social traditions, and religion play a major role in defining the concepts of the family system in general, and marriage in particular, as well as in shaping the structure of this system.

This explains the significant difference between the family system in our Eastern countries and that of the West.

With religion’s withdrawal from the Western social equation, the concept of civil marriage emerged, coming into strong conflict with traditional notions of marriage and, more specifically, with religious institutions, as the state and its laws replaced the clergy in blessing this union.

The Gilgamesh Society is pleased to present a lecture entitled:
Civil Marriage – Its Social, Legal, and Cultural Dimensions

This lecture will be given by Judge Ismail Jarbou, born in Syria, in Sweida, in 1981. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Damascus University in 2007. He served as a judge for fourteen years in the civil, criminal, and religious courts. He is also active in numerous humanitarian, developmental, and charitable organizations. He has been residing in Canada since 2023.
