The Winter Solstice occurs when Earth's axial tilt is at its maximum distance from the Sun. Translation? The shortest day, the longest night, and a collective yearning for sunlight rivaling a cat seeking the warmest patch of floor.
For centuries, cultures worldwide have marked this day with feasts, fires, and festivities. It's about celebrating light, warmth, and hope as we turn toward longer days. And in the middle of Winter? We could all use some extra cheer.
