Time LimitEach poet has 3 minutes and 10 seconds total.A 0.5 (half-point) deduction applies for every 10 seconds over the time limit.3. Original Work OnlyPoems must be the poet’s own original work.No group pieces, covers, or collaborations.4. No Props, Costumes, or InstrumentsThe performance is about voice, words, and presence.Dress code is Black Tie — formal, creative, and expressive — but no performance props or extra aids.5. Judging5 judges will be selected from the audience.Judges score from 0. to 10.0 using Highest and lowest scores are dropped; the middle three are totaled for the final round score.6. Scoring CriteriaContent: originality, message, impact.Performance: delivery, energy, presence.Overall Impression: connection, emotion, creativity.7. Respect the MicNo hate speech, slurs, or personal attacks.Show love and support for every performer — snaps, claps, and cheers are encouraged.8. Tie-BreakersIn case of a tie, poets will perform a 4th peice (Please Prepare)9. Registration & Check-InPoets must check in 30 minutes before showtime or risk losing their slot.10.
