- **Event Description**: • You probably know about ‘firies’. CFS volunteers in yellow uniforms in white trucks with sirens and lights ablaze? 

• Not all CFS volunteers are ‘firies’ though. Behind every crew is a group of people who provide equally important roles in support of our Fire and Rescue personnel. Volunteers of the Operational Support Brigade are known as OPS or OPS Support.

• OPS provide organisational and operational support in areas like – Radio communication, online computer records and tracking systems, keeping legal records in incident logs, logistical support for larger incidents and provision of food, water, and special equipment needed at an incident. 

• OPS volunteers can work in a defined team environment (called Incident Management Teams) for much larger incidents. 
• Members living in Strathalbyn are especially needed however those further afield are welcome. 

• CFS provides uniforms and role specific training.  We hold training on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month at the Strathalbyn CFS Base from 7.30pm – 9.15pm. We also conduct field training with the seven CFS Brigades in our group. 

• Adults of all age groups are welcome. We operate over a 24-hour period all year round. 

• This is a great opportunity to join our Brigade, serve your community, meet other like-minded people, and use your life skills and experience.
