Join us for a 5 week journey into the foundations of hand building pottery. This course is designed for complete beginners and curious creatives who want to learn the core techniques of working with clay, no experience needed, just willing hands.



Over five relaxed and guided sessions, you will explore:



Week 1: Coiling
Build upward and outward using rolled coils to create taller forms such as vases or planters. Discover how to join, blend and strengthen your structure.



Week 2: The Pinch Pot
The simplest and most ancient pottery technique. Learn how to shape clay using just your hands to create small bowls or vessels while understanding clay preparation and basic form.



Week 3: Slab Work

Work with rolled slabs of clay to design functional and decorative pieces such as plates, trays or small boxes. Learn cutting, shaping and joining techniques.



Week 4: Continuation of slab work and refining
Trim, smooth and add decorative detail to your creations. Explore texture, carving and simple design elements to give your pieces personality.



Week 5: Glazing
Bring your work to life with colour. Learn about glaze application, finishing techniques and how the firing process transforms your raw clay into finished ceramic pieces.



All materials and firings are included. You will create multiple handmade pieces to take home, each one uniquely yours.
