Exploring the Future of V2X-Based Tolling and In-Vehicle Payments

OmniAir Consortium®, in cooperation with the North Carolina Turnpike Authority (NCTA), invites you to a one-day, in-person workshop focused on V2X-based tolling systems and in-vehicle payment technologies. This exclusive event brings together tolling agency leaders and industry experts from across the United States to explore the technology, policy, and operational requirements for successfully deploying V2X tolling at scale.

Date: Thursday, March 26
Location: “The NCDOT Hangar,” located at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, just steps from Terminal 2
Format: Morning panels + afternoon interactive workshop
Capacity: Limited to 50 participants

The day will begin with expert-led panel discussions highlighting North Carolina’s ongoing tolling pilot projects, featuring both Direct V2X and Network-based and in-vehicle payment solutions. Panelists will include representatives from the North Carolina Turnpike Authority and industry partners participating in the tolling pilots.

In the afternoon, participants will engage in interactive breakout sessions, working in small groups to address key topics such as:

• Standards and interoperability considerations
• Testing methodologies and certification requirements
• Deployment and operational challenges
• Trusted equipment and secure transaction frameworks

The workshop will conclude with site visits and live demonstrations of V2X-based tolling solutions.
