Dance Mojave is thrilled to produce The Wild Stages at The Big Morongo Canyon Preserve this April!

This outdoor production pairs world-class live acoustic music and community-powered dance with the unparalleled natural beauty of the Preserve. Enjoy an evening of dances celebrating the Preserve's unique environment: deer, clouds, water/fire/earth/wind, cottonwood and mesquite trees, mountains, grey foxes, the cryptobiotic crust, vermillion flycatcher, western bluebird, and ravens! Enjoy live music at every stop - featuring Jeremie Levi Samson, Dusty Brough, Brent Simpson, Lara Bennett, Amanda McGlothlin, Gabriela Evaro, and Janie Cowan.

This immersive 60-minute production will take place around the Preserve's boardwalk. The audience, grouped in tours capped at 20 people, will be guided by our docents sharing information about the Preserve as the dances take place in four different locations, allowing guests to see the landscape and the production from multiple perspectives. Some bench seating is available on-site with walking in between.

Every 4:00 pm show will be especially programmed with accessiblity and extra time in mind for guests using wheelchairs or walkers along the boardwalk.

Every 4:30 pm show will be designed for families with young children bringing strollers or wagons, with especially interactive docents -- and the possibility of spotting an insect parade brought to you by local Morongo Valley young dancers attending "Mini and Me" weekly classes!

Ticketing for the event will be $25 per attendee (with discounted prices for guests up to age 10 for the 4:30 showings!).

We hope that you enjoy the Preserve, and also acknowledge that we have limited parking on site! If you attend an earlier show (starting before 6 pm), we would appreciate it if you would be willing to relieve the parking lot to make room for other attendees.

Preserve Rules

As a nature preserve, we are dedicated to management of the preserve for the benefit of the plants and animals that live here. To protect the wildlife, there are some simple guidelines for visitors:
PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME.
They are not permitted anywhere in the preserve. (They are permitted in neighboring Covington Park.)

PLEASE TAKE ONLY PICTURES.
Collecting animals or vegetation changes the preserve’s environment and is prohibited.

NO OPEN FLAMES, SMOKING, OR FIRES ARE ALLOWED.
Fires are a grave danger to the preserve and its inhabitants. This includes smoking in the parking lot, bathrooms, or on the trails.

THE TRAILS ARE FOR PEDESTRIANS ONLY.
Sections with boardwalks are accessible to people with strollers, walkers or wheelchairs.

Visit Safely
The preserve is in a desert environment populated by wildlife including snakes, ticks, scorpions, and the occasional bear or mountain lion.

KEEP YOUR CHILDREN SAFE.
Don’t let them run off-trail or unsupervised.

BE PREPARED FOR THE WEATHER.
Desert days can be very hot. Desert nights are very dark and can get cold quickly.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND MEDIA RELEASE

You should read this Release very carefully as it affects your legal rights. Do not attend the Performance if you do not agree with this Release.

Thank you for attending THE WILD STAGES 2026 (the “Performance”), produced by Dance Mojave Performance Collective, a California non-profit corporation (“Dance Mojave”). By purchasing tickets to and attending the Performance, and as consideration for your enjoyment of and participation in the Performance, you, on behalf of yourself and any other persons including without limitation minor children in your party (collectively, “You”) agree to be bound by this Release of Liability and Media Release (the “Release”).

1. Attendee Obligations. You must follow all rules and instructions of Performance staff and their representatives, including with regards to safety.

2. Assumption of Risk. You understand that attending the Performance involves inherent risk including without limitation the risk of injury. You assume full responsibility for any and all injury or harm of any kind including personal injury to You in connection with Your attendance at the Performance. You acknowledge that your attendance and participation in the Performance is fully voluntary and You knowingly and willingly accept all risk related to or arising thereof.

3. General Release. You hereby fully and irrevocably release, discharge, indemnify, and agree to hold harmless The County of San Bernardino, The Friends of the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, and Dance Mojave, including all directors, officers, staff, volunteers, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, losses, causes of action, suits, or judgments of any kind (collectively, “Claims”) arising out of or in connection with Your participation in the Performance. The foregoing release does not include a waiver of Claims that may be unknown to You at present, in accordance with Section 1542 of the California Civil Code, which reads: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.”

4. Media Release. Dance Mojave, itself or through its agents, may take photographs, video recordings, and/or audio recordings of You including Your name, image, likeness, performance, and/or voice (“Recordings”). You grant Dance Mojave an unlimited right to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, reproduce, use, exhibit, display, perform, broadcast, create derivative works from, and distribute the Recordings in any manner or media now existing or hereafter developed, in perpetuity, throughout the world for any lawful purpose. All Recordings become the property of Dance Mojave. In addition, You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein Your likeness appears and waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the Recordings. You may revoke your consent to this Section 4 only prior to 3 pm Pacific Time on the date of the Performance by emailing ZGFuY2Vtb2phdmUgfCBnbWFpbCAhIGNvbQ==.

5. General. If any provision of this Release is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, void, illegal, or unenforceable, the remainder of the Release will remain in full force and effect and will not be impaired or invalidated. This Release is the entire agreement between the parties related to its subject matter and may not be amended except by a writing signed by a duly authorized representative of Dance Mojave. This Release is governed by and will be construed in accordance with California law without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any and all proceedings arising from or relating to this Agreement will be resolved exclusively in the state and federal courts in Riverside County, California.
