The Visual Arts Summer Acdemy provides a community-based outreach program for students in grades 8-12. The Academy introduces participatns to visual arts and design programs at the university level and helps them to expand their artistics skills.

Under the supervision of WVU School of Art and Design faculty, students will participate in studio art workshops throughout the week. The final day of the week long camp includes a student exhibit where friends and family are encouraged to attend to view their student's work. Supervised by student counselors and faculty in WVU's Art Education program, participants will reside in the Evansdale Residence Complex near the Creative Arts Center. Cost includes room ad board, bed linens, meals and art supplies. Residential campers may choose between printmaking, sculpture, graphic design, and ceramics workshops.
