Instrument impressionnant, le Gamelan est ici étendu par l’Ensemble Batida vers d’autres horizons. Am Angklungklang emprunte le savoir-faire des nouvelles technologies pour donner au projet un caractère électronique organique, tout en conservant la puissance extrême de sa facture acoustique, pour un résultat innovant et chaleureux. 

L’Ensemble Batida se lance avec ce projet dans une “préparation” de ses deux Gamelans à l’aide de haut-parleurs/transducteurs et du traitement en temps réel. Le Gamelan ainsi préparé devient augmenté, puissant et mystérieux. La scène se transforme en une place de village sur laquelle le public est libre de s’installer au centre du Gamelan ou de circuler autour, de rester durant la performance complète ou de partir en cours pour peut-être y revenir plus tard.
