The operation, devised by Field Marshal Montgomery, aimed to outflank German defenses by seizing a series of bridges and creating a northern route into Germany, potentially to attack the Ruhr. This event will faithfully recreate the experiences of them from the 4th Parachute Brigade, namely the 156 Parachute Battalion, to give us all an experience that will be remembered. In doing so, we will pay our respects to the fallen. UK Objectives: I: The 1st British Airborne Division's main objective was to seize the bridges at Arnhem and hold them until relieved by XXX Corps. II: Establish a secure bridgehead in the Arnhem area, north of the Lower Rhine river, to allow the ground forces to advance. III: Destroy enemy flak positions around the designated DZs and LZs to protect the subsequent waves of airborne troops. Bookings & Cost Bookings: A basic level of Fitness will be required. A very Basic Kit List will Follow. UK British Airborne impressions ONLY. (Compass, Rain Cape, Warm Period Jumper and Rations are essential). German Impressions to be Waffen-SS, Luftwaffe Flak Artillery & Heer. (Zeltbahn, Warm Period Clothing and Rations are essential). Sub Machine guns "SHOULD" limited to Squad Leaders, 2ic’s and Officers only. Let’s, as always, try to maximise the number of rifles in use! Anyone with Sub Machine guns not in command appointments will be limited to semi-auto.
