We hope everyone in our community is hanging on. As people with disabilities ourselves we get that right now things are rough. We are all feeling it, and the mainstream media and general public just don’t seem to get it. 

We are a strong community though and we know that when we show solidarity and lead by example, we make change happen…again. I get that we are tired and we are hurting but now’s the time to show the broader community that we are here and we are here to stay. Not be shut up out of sight and out of mind…

With that in mind we have recently come across the Disability Night Out. It’s something that has become an annual event in the US (find out more about it here www.disabilitynightout.org ). Their tagline is: 

Show up.
Share the table.
Belong everywhere.

Which resonates strongly with us at Is Everybody Here?
