This month's presentation will be by Dr. Christopher Somers, Mariana Pinho and Yulia Shtymburska from the University of Regina Dept. of Biology.
Learn more about the ecology of crayfish, often seen as miniature lobsters!
Crayfish are a diverse group of freshwater invertebrates with a global distribution. They are key components of freshwater ecosystems and have very interesting natural history and ecology.
In this presentation we will talk about ongoing crayfish ecology research right here in Saskatchewan, including collaborative work with Nature Moose Jaw on crayfish in the Moose Jaw River.
In a pinch, let's talk about some claw and order in the crayfish ecosystem. Crayfish are important prey to many species with some very interesting and unique characteristics! You won't want to miss this "clawaborative" presentation.
Following the presentation (in the Timothy Eaton's card room), coffee and tea will be on as well as tasty goodies. There is no charge to attend.
Speakers: Dr. Christopher Somers, Mariana Pinho, and Yuliya Shtymburska - University of Regina, Department of Biology
